Athens and Grecian Antiquities, 1853-1854 - An exhibition of photographs by James Robertson, the 19th century British photographer. The exhibition is on loan from the photographic archive of the Benaki Museum and is the beginning of a wider project, entitled The Museums of Athens, aiming to present the museums and cultural heritage of Athens, host of the 2004 Olympic Games. Organised by The Hellenic Centre. Transfiguring old Concepts - A lecture in English by Professor A. Delivorrias, Director of the Benaki Museum. Professor Angelos Delivorrias will refer to the recent expansion and reconfiguration of the displays of the Benaki Museum and will focus on the transformation which museums are undergoing in order to meet with the changing demands of the new century. Organised by The Hellenic Centre within the framework of the exhibition Athens and Grecian Antiquities, 1853-1854. Venue: The Hellenic Centre  7.00 pm.
