The Secret War in the Aegean Islands During World War 2, 1943-1945 An illustrated talk by Lieutenant Colonel Michael Westropp, to mark the 72nd Anniversary of the Italian invasion of Greece on 28 October 1940. Little was known about the secret war until Michael Westropp recently uncovered the papers of Brigadier D J T Turnbull CBE, DSO British Commander of the Aegean Raiding Force. The force included the Greek Sacred Squadron
commanded by Major Kristodoulos Tsigantes. The talk will follow the activities of the raiders on the islands under Axis control and will conclude with the setting up of Force 132 in the
