Apology of Socrates A theatrical solo performance by the Emmy Award winner Yannis Simonidis (Yale College '65, Yale Drama '72), directed by Broadway and television veteran Loukas Skipitaris.  Oscar and Tony Award winner Theoni Vahliotis Aldredge is the costume designer, and percussive suport is provided by Caryn Heilman.  The English and Greek translations are by Yannis Simonidis and Loukas Skipitaris.  A delightful and humorous dramatisation of the famous philosopher's defence while on trial for his life in Athens, ancient Greece.  Performance on Friday in Greek and on Saturday in English.  Organised by the Hellenic Centre.  Supported by A G Leventis Foundation.  Free entry but please confirm attendance on 020 7563 9835 or press@helleniccentre.org

Crossroads:  Songs from Greece, Brazil, Agentina, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus  A musical voyage into the sounds of the songs of Greece, Portugal, Argentina, Italy, Cyprus and Brazil - the joyful tarantela, the passion of tango, the bittersweet nostalgia of fados, the genuine character of rebitiko, the relaxing and magical rhythm of bossa nova.  A colourful evening of melodies and songs that Vakia Stavrou has recently performed during her concerts in Paris theatres, where she lives and works.  Muscians:  Marios Takoushis (piano), Lefteris Moumtzis (double bass, guitar).
